Jo Turner, Membership Committee Chair.
Do you know a current or past University employee who is age 55 or older? If yes, then you know a potential MURA member! Some folks are surprised to learn that you don’t have to be retired to join MURA. The MURA Constitution says this about membership:
The membership of the Association shall consist of University of Missouri retirees, former employees, their spouses/partners, and active faculty or staff aged 55 and older who each pay the Association dues except as noted below. Retirees from other universities or colleges and/or their spouses/partners, after approval by the Board and upon payment of dues except as noted below, may become members. The Board may offer an initial period of complimentary membership, which comes with the same rights and privileges as dues-paying members.
It is easy to invite someone to join MURA. Simply direct them to the MURA Membership page. MURA membership options, including complimentary annual membership, can be found there.
