MU Retirees Association (MURA) compiles this list of resources to be of service to MU and UM System retirees. In some cases, resources will include benefits to retirees. Because resources are subject to ongoing changes, it is recommended that contact be made with providers for most current information. Also, while no single list can reliably capture all resources available to MU and UM System retirees, consider this list as a starting point.
MU Retirees Association (MURA) is the organization advocating for MU and UM retirees. Advocacy is one of its four objectives—along with Communication, Educating/Socializing, and Supporting the University Family. See Membership for information and a form to join.

Benefits in Healthcare
myTotal Rewards is the portal for retirement planning and retiree resources which includes Benefits overview, Medicare Advantage Base Plan, Medicare Advantage Enhanced Plan, Retiree Health PPO Plan, and Retiree Healthy Savings.
Mizzou Optical is a full-service optical shop. Also, see the Total Rewards Vision Discounts.
MU Health Care Pharmacy Services offers comprehensive services.
Renew Active Fitness Program is a Medicare-eligible program for body and mind with a gym membership. Call the number on the back of your UnitedHealthcare member ID card or go to the Renew Active link on United Health Care’s website.
UM Retirement is the site that provides contact information to get help, forms and guides.
Business Cards
Printing Services are available if official standing with the university. Retirees with emeritus standing represent the University in an official capacity. Payment is from the retiree making the order.

Identification Cards
MIZZOU ID Cards are available. All retired staff and faculty (emeritus or not) are eligible to receive “Retiree” cards. Replacements can be obtained through MU DoIT ID Card Requests <idcardreq@missouri.edu.
Learning and Education
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is for adults 50 years old and up to explore new interests through a wide range of courses, activities and clubs.
MU Retirees Association offers a monthly Breakfast Speaker Series with educational and social events throughout the year.
MU Libraries: Retirees. Library privileges including circulation, databases, computer use, and photocopy services are covered.
MU Tuition Assistance is available for eligible retirees as specified at the Total Rewards website.
Parking
Retired but still visiting or working on campus? Permits are available at reduced or regular rates, depending on FTE.
Pay by card, check or payroll deduction. Contact Parking & Transportation to purchase at permit.
Retired faculty and staff may request parking permissions, provided that:
- Space is available.
- All parking requirements are met.
- A fee, set annually and approved by Parking & Transportation, is paid.
Rec Center
MizzouRec Center memberships are available for retirees.
UM Emeritus Designation
320.090 Emeritus Designation is in the Collected Rules and Regulations.
UM Retiree Town Halls
UM System Retirees Associations includes recorded biannual UM Retiree Town Halls, events, quarterly MU Connection, and information on each of the four-campus retirees’ associations.
University Resources of General Interest
Alumni Association
Mizzou Alumni Association offers many member benefits including discounts on food, lodging, transportation, clothing, auto, hardware/appliances, entertainment, health/fitness. Senior membership is available.
Bookstore
The Mizzou Store includes clothing and accessories, memorabilia, textbooks, and TigerTech. A 10% discount is available on most items with a MU ID card.
Events
MU Athletics –Tiger Scholarship Fund (TSF) offers a soft-credit match to all MU full-benefit retirees and employees donating to the Tiger Scholarship Fund with the total determining seating and parking privileges.
MU Concert Series offers shows, music, and dance performances.
Rhynsburger Theater and Studio 4 offers dramatic productions.
School of Music Upcoming Events include recitals and concerts.
Flowers and Landscape Design
Tiger Garden has a team of students and staff to assist in creating fresh arrangements. A landscape design studio is also available.
Food
Buck’s Ice Cream. Ice cream is made fresh here on the MU campus by food science students.
Mizzou Meat Market. See this site for USDA approved prime cuts of beef, pork and lamb from Mizzou Meat Market.
Golf
A. L. Gustin Golf Course offers a Senior Fee option.
Learning and Education
MU Extension provides programs, online courses, events, publications, news and articles.

News
SHOWME MIZZOU provides news releases in chronological order
MU Info is a weekly list of announcements published by MU’s Division of IT and Digital Service sent to all faculty, staff and students.
MU Extension News and Articles are retrievable by key word or latest news.
Columbia Missourian is a community newspaper covering news and sports supervised by professional editors and staffed by Missouri School of Journalism students who do the reporting, copy editing, design, photography and multimedia.
KBIA-FM is on the air at 91.3 FM in mid – Missouri and 89.7 FM in Kirksville, and streaming online worldwide, seven days a week, 24 hours a day to its listeners and members.
KOMU TV-8 is the only university-owned commercial television station and major network affiliate in the United States that uses its newsroom as a working lab for students.
Soil and Plant Testing
Soil and Plant Testing Laboratory analyzes soil, plant, water, manure, compost and greenhouse media.
Technology
The Mizzou Store TigerTech Service Desk is available for walk-ins. Repairs are strictly for Dell or Apple computers and they are limited to warranty work. Loaner laptops are limited to currently enrolled students.
Travel
Mizzou Touring Tigers offers International and Domestic Group travel with the MU Mizzou Alumni Association. All Mizzou graduates, friends, family, faculty, staff and retirees have the opportunity to experience the world alongside the camaraderie of fellow Tigers.
UM Insurance Coverages — International Travel exists for retired faculty and staff traveling abroad on university-related business. Refer to the UM System Risk and Insurance Management website for information about university-contracted international insurance and other resources.
