Resources and Benefits for Retirees
MU Retirees Association (MURA) is the organization advocating for MU and UM retirees. Advocacy is one of its four objectives—along with Communication, Educating/Socializing, and Supporting the University Family. See Membership for information and a form to join.
Constitution and By-Laws
The purpose of the Association is to represent, promote and protect the interests of the retirees and to promote the welfare of the University of Missouri.

History
Dramatic changes in the University’s retirement and benefits plans, proposed to begin on September 1, 1990, created concerns in pre-1990 retirees about whether their interests and concerns were being effectively communicated to the administration. These concerns led to the organization of MURA. Dr. C. V. Ross (Animal Science) and Dr. Bob Daniels (Psychology) were recognized by MURA as cofounders.
Kitty Dickerson Scholarship Fund
The MU Retirees Association (MURA) Kitty Dickerson Scholarship honors the scholar and industry leader, Dr. Kitty Dickerson. After her distinguished career and service as Department Chair of MU Textile and Apparel Management, Dickerson assumed the role of MURA President. In this role she was the energizing force in creating a scholarship specifically for students who are the dependents of MU and UM staff families.
