On May 5, Damon Coyle, simulation innovation specialist at the Clinical Simulation Center, will present Where Medicine Meets Making: The Art and Engineering of Medical Simulation. In this engaging, behind-the-scenes presentation, Mr. Coyle will share how innovative medical training tools are conceived, sculpted, and engineered at MU. Blending artistry with research and collaboration, he will illustrate how novel educational devices are developed to better prepare MU students for real-world patient care. Attendees will gain insight into the creative and technical process that helps carry forward the University’s long-standing commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
Damon Coyle is a medical sculptor and innovator who transforms ideas into lifelike educational tools for healthcare training. Combining artistry, anatomy, and engineering, he crafts highly realistic interactive models that bring medical education to life through hands-on simulations. His work at MU bridges the worlds of art and science, showing how creativity and craftsmanship can shape the next generation of healthcare professionals through better training tools.
