August 8, 2007

Those in attendance were: Smith, Freeman, Gelatt, Groshong, Ross, Bradfield, Behymer, and Stewart; meeting with Beth Chancellor and Gary Allen, of the MU Informational Technology Office.

There have been 183 retirees signed up as “students” in the University system which the PeopleSoft Student System will not allow after August 20, 2007. After discussion by the BOD, a motion was made to approve a letter to be sent to these 183 retirees explaining the changes to be made. (Ross/Smith).

The course fee will be eliminated and a fee substituted for an email account. Retirees will no longer be able to obtain student discounts on software. IT Training will be available to retirees at no cost, based on seat availability. Retirees can still obtain IT support from the Help Desk.

August 27, 2007 Email:

A copy of information from Mizzou’s website from M. Dianne Drainer, Exec. Director of Mizzou Flagship Council, was sent to Jo Behymer, MURA President for review. This information was forwarded to the MURA BOD for approval of President Behymer sending a resolution to Brady Deaton and MU in support of restoring the name of the University of Missouri, with the approval of the UM Board of Curators, for the Columbia Campus.

Approval was received via email from the majority of the MURA BOD.

August 27, 2007 Email:

An email from President Behymer to the MURA BOD with the names submitted of Board and committee chairs to be appointed. This entire slate was approved via email from the majority of the MURA BOD.

The appointments are as follows:

Faculty Council – Ed Hunvald (replaces Dean Yarwood)
Awards Chair – Darlene Miles
Chancellor Retirees Advisory Committee – Al Hahn (replaces John Bauman)
Membership Co-Chair – Jean Zwonitzer (will coordinate recruitment/retention)

Nominating Committee (staff) – Liz Bailey
Audit Committee – Bob Marshall, Chair
