Meeting was called to order by President Cramer at 2:00 p.m. Those in attendance were: President Cramer, Sylvia Bradfield, Bob Marshall, Ernest Hilderbrand, Tom Freeman, John Rhein, John Bauman, Gary Smith, Ken Schneeberger, Ruth Miluski, Kee Groshong, Jo Behymer, Bob Stewart, and Dean Yarwood

President Cramer had the BOD introduce themselves as there are some new members.

Tom Freeman introduced Joanne Boomer from MU IT Services who had handouts with the services listed for retirees. The current cost for enrollment as a student is $18.71/semester. There is no charge for summer semester if account is activated during the winter semester. MURA would like one of these handouts be put in MU retiree's packets.

The October 13, 2004 minutes were approved with one small change. Marshall/Smith

Treasurer's report was approved as reported. Groshong/Behymer. Total assets are $48,286.51 as of January 31, 2005.

President Cramer reported that three members of each UM campus met with UM officials (Vice President Ken Hutchinson and Assoc. Vice President Mike Paden) on December 9th. David Garin (UMSL) is to draft a letter about retiree's COLAs. Stewart suggested sending the letter soon to President Floyd. There was a suggestion that a copy be sent to the Curator's Chairman. The representatives of the retiree's groups will meet again March 17 with President Floyd.

Groshong made a presentation about retiree participation in MU's fund drive, All We Call Mizzou. $600 million is their goal.

Membership - Hilderbrand. There are currently 1,392 members, with 563 as life members. There were 1,162 unique mailings to these members. He just received a new list of recently retired individuals from HR. Should we ask members if they want their phone number listed in the next directory for retirees?

Communications - John Rhein has been doing the MURA Newsletter for 15 years. There was a round of applause of appreciation. Tom Freeman has checked on getting the newsletter printed by other sources and University Printing Services would be the cheapest and the newsletter could be expanded to 8 pages.

Retirement Benefits - Bauman. Early retirements in 2000 and 2003 seems to have hurt the retirement fund. Current investment return rates at the end of 2003 were 21.6%. The most recent pension increase was in 2001. Bob Stewart reported that the MU Benefits Committee would meet 2/10. They make recommendations for changes to President Floyd who in turn makes recommendations to the Board of Curators.

University Liaison - Smith. They have requested a meeting with Chancellor Brady Deaton.

Awards - Brown. The committee has some good, strong candidates this year with fewer nominations. Next Tuesday is the deadline for nominations.

Govermental Affairs - Freeman. Meeting next week to set agenda for spring business meeting.

Staff Council - Miluski. She has attended three meetings and is very impressed with the council.

Faculty Council - Yarwood. They have discussed non-regular faculty and increased charges for use of the new rec center.

Nomination Committee - Slate for spring business meeting is: Loretta Ross to replace Paul Rexroad on Staff Council Committee; Sylvia Bradfield for Secretary; and Rod Gelatt for President-Elect/Program Chairman.

New Business:

Bauman requested to nominate an individual to replace Bonnie Arnold as Ombudsman. Nominations can be given to President Cramer.
